We are delighted to highlight Pencils With Passion, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of students attending Collegio Christianos and Celeste Faro, two schools in the Veron area of the Dominican Republic’s far eastern coast. At Grindaholik Media Group, we had the opportunity to work with Pencils With Passion to design their website and bring their mission to life. The founder of Pencils With Passion, Lilly Thomson, was inspired to start this organization during her Girl Scouts journey, where she received her Bronze and Silver Awards. The final step in Lilly’s scouting career was to earn her Gold Award. For her project, Lilly decided to raise awareness of the issues that children in impoverished areas face when it comes to receiving a quality education. Through her research, Lilly discovered that the two schools in Veron lacked essential learning materials and resources, making it difficult for students to receive a proper education. She felt compelled to make a difference and started Pencils With Passion, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing these schools with the resources they need to thrive. Pencils With Passion is committed to connecting schools, communities, and individuals to improve education in impoverished areas. Their primary objective is to ensure that students attending Collegio Christianos and Celeste Faro have access to the learning materials they require to succeed. At Grindaholik Media Group, we were inspired by Lilly’s story and her dedication to enhancing the education of children in the Dominican Republic. We wanted to create a website that not only showcased Pencils With Passion’s mission but also made it easy for donors to support their cause.
